Linda Doan, a local acrylic paint artist, moved to Port Colborne with her husband (who grew up there) late in 2018. Being an avid gardener and the household project manager, that first year was very busy.
In 2020, after 6 months of isolation due to the pandemic, Linda decided to focus on something new. Robin Nisbet, a local career artist, designer and teacher was offering paint lessons via zoom. Linda explained to Robin that she had lots of experience painting walls and wood work but none on canvas. This was not a problem according to Robin and after attaining the recommended supplies, Linda started her Art Journey in September of 2020. Linda has always enjoyed the beauty in music, nature, gardening, decorating, food preparation and presentation! She is inspired from experiences she has had and usually uses her own or photos of a close family member as a reference for her work. Landscapes and still life are moving into her comfort zone but she continues to explore other art styles. |
