There is so much beauty in the world around us, and for me, there is something about painting that makes it capable of storing that information and those memories. I am sure it has to do with the process, the challenge of creating and the requirement to closely observe the subject and its surroundings. For these reasons, I am always inspired to paint from my own experiences and I usually use my own or photos of a close family member as a reference. I also love to research an interesting subject as I believe every piece of art has a story. That is what I want to pass on to the viewer.
I enjoy painting realistic Landscapes and Still Life but I love to learn and explore other art styles, as well. I have pieces hanging in Texas, here in Ontario and Alberta. I am always open to a challenge and have completed a few commission pieces recently. I am so grateful to have had guidance and encouragement from Robin Nisbet as I begin to uncover my own painting style. |
