Mary Friesen is a Niagara-based artist and author whose landscapes in paint and words reflect her childhood in Northern Ontario and the Niagara Region of her adult life. Photographs and plein air sketches become grist for her studio work. Her desire is to immerse herself in the emotional response of the moments spent in nature and to convey these on paper and canvas. She has exhibited throughout Ontaril in group and individual shows and many juried shows. She studied at the Haliburton School of Fine Art, The Pumphouse of NOTL and with renowned individual artists.
