My interest in art came to me at a young age. On both sides of my family art was
a constant. I had may interests over the years, including participating in different classes such as water colours, pottery and astronomy. It wasn't until later that I realized I had to decide what medium of art to pursue. Since my work background as a welder a machinist for 30 years and a Millwright for 20 years, metal sculptures seemed the logical and most rewarding. I have always liked the unusual, which lends itself to my art. The world is a representation of how edgy the world is today. The mailbox Octopus could not be just an octopus. The "Kracen" having crushed the bathysphere seemed the only way to finish this piece. Since joining the South Niagara Artist group 3 years ago, my personal life changed. Having a stroke in July 2018 my creativity has not waned and with the help of family and friends I am confident that my interest in art and show casing it on my property will continue to move forward. |
